Roger Spotts, Environmental Education Coordinator
I grew up in Toadvalley PA. Approx. 45 miles north of Harrisburg in a sleepy farming area. Early on I spent all my time outdoors with my brother exploring the forests and streams around our house. I graduated from Line Mountain High School and attended PSU’s DuBois campus where I received an Associate degree in Wildlife Technology and deepened my interest in the outdoors. I then went to Slippery Rock State College and got my BS in Environmental Education so I could share my interest in the outdoors with people of all ages. After two years with PA. State Parks as a naturalist at Little Buffalo and then Shikellamy State Parks I took a job as a Naturalist at the Meesing Nature Center and for the last 36 plus years I have enjoyed every minute of the experience. I live with my wife of 29 years, Stephanie near Newfoundland along with our two Black Labs, Arrow and Callie. Oh we also have a cat, Pyewacket. I enjoy fishing, pheasant hunting, cooking, baseball, and creek sitting. |

Her philosophy is that if we can cherish our natural resources, embrace simplicity, and share our knowledge and experiences, the world will truly be a better place for all. Do no harm; keep learning and keep playing! |
