Bug Fest is a celebration of insects! And great fun for families with children ages 4 – 12! This annual festival will be held on Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center in Bartonsville. Families are invited to come out and have some buggy fun with live critters, displays, games, and take home crafts; all day, all about our six legged friends! All day activities include insect safaris, a butterfly tent, live insects, insect collections, painting with maggots and games. The Insect Olympics will also take place twice at 11:30 a.m. and again at 1:30 p.m. Come dressed as your favorite bug, nymph or caterpillar and participate in the Insect Fashion Show.
There is a $5 admission fee for children under 12. Come dressed as your favorite bug and receive a $1 discount on the admission fee. Parents are FREE. No pre-registration is necessary. Due to limited parking, we are encouraging families to attend in either the morning session 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or the afternoon session from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
