Bug Fest is a celebration of insects! And great fun for families with children ages 4 – 12! This annual festival is held in July at the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center in Bartonsville. Families are invited to come out and have some buggy fun with live critters, displays, games, and take home crafts; all day, all about our six legged friends! All day activities include insect safaris, a butterfly tent, live insects, insect collections, painting with maggots and games. . Featuring a photography exhibit by Maya Shikhman with information provided by the Monroe County 4H Club’s Insects Are Us members! The Insect Olympics will also take place twice at 11:30 a.m. and again at 1:30 p.m. Come dressed as your favorite bug, nymph or caterpillar and participate in the Insect Fashion Show.
