The Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center provides year-round environmental education programs for people of all ages. Our Center is dedicated to fostering community awareness through first-hand experience of the natural environment of the Poconos.
Since its inception in 1976 our Center has offered a wide range of programs and has always striven to improve and expand its offerings and promote Conservation through Education.
Programs: Our hands-on approach to environmental education results in programs designed for people of all ages and abilities. We offer a wide variety of environmental topics and experiences and are happy to discuss the program needs of groups or individuals alike.
Camps: Our camps are offered for children and young adults, ages 7-through 18. We provide day camps as well as residential camps with all of them focusing on the natural environment.
Facilities: We maintain and manage three outdoor learning areas; The 166 acre Kettle Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, The 1000+ acre Tannersville Cranberry Bog, and the Messing Nature Center site. Each site contains unique natural features as well as trails and outdoor learning areas.
Special Events: We offer special Environmental Education events throughout the year for groups and individuals. These fun-filled activities allow us to celebrate our local environment.
Media Gallery: The EE Center Staff is constantly working to capture the natural world on video and through photographs from strategically placed cameras. These photos reveal a little about our local fauna and flora.
Gift Shop: Our unique gift shop provides customers with the opportunity to purchase books, bird feeders, birdseed, and other nature oriented items throughout the year. All proceeds benefit the environmental education programs. To see a complete list of our upcoming programs and events or to register please visit the calendar.
