Chapter 105 Waterways and Wetlands

The Chapter 105 program addresses stream and wetlands encroachments that may impact water quality, increase flooding or degrade riparian habitat. The District administers DEP Water Obstruction and Encroachment General Permits, which authorize certain smaller impact work in waterways. These permits include: Fish Habitat Enhancement; Small Docks & Boat Ramps; Streambank Stabilization; Intake and Outfall Structures; Utility Line Crossings, Agricultural Crossings and or Minor Road Crossings of streams or wetlands. District staff inspects permitted sites, investigates complaints and provides regulatory and permitting assistance.
