12th Annual MCCD Photo Contest

In an effort to support the conservation of our county’s natural resources, we feel it is important to allow the public an opportunity to showcase what they feel are Monroe County’s finest natural resources.

 

Contest Rules

1. Contest is open to amateur photographers of all ages.

2. Photograph must display a natural resource of Monroe County, Pennsylvania.

3. Images must be of natural resources in a natural setting, including but not   limited to: trees, flowers, woodlands, streams, rivers, farms, conservation practices, wildlife and similar themes.  Photos of people and/or pets will not be accepted.

4. Photograph must be your own original work and must have not been           previously published in any commercial publication.

5. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Minor  adjustments are acceptable. If the judges determine that a photographer has altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it.

6. In order to ensure anonymous judging, please do not include signatures or watermarks on the photo itself.

7. Only one photo may be entered per person.

8. Photos must be submitted  with a minimum 300 dpi digital format.

9. All entries become the property of the Monroe County Conservation District and the District reserves the right to use all photographs in publications for promotional purposes.

10. A complete entry form must accompany each photograph submitted.

11. All entries are due to the Monroe County Conservation District by September 19, 2025.  Judging will be performed by Monroe County Conservation District Staff and winners will be notified by October 17, 2025.   All decisions are final.

12. Winning photographs will be on display in our art gallery from December 1, 2025 through January 30, 2026. 

13. One grand prize winner will be selected to have their photo on the calendar cover, a free copy of the calendar and a quart of pure maple syrup.  Eleven additional winners will be selected and will each receive a free copy of the  calendar and one pint of pure maple syrup.  Additional calendars will be   available for purchase beginning November 1, 2025 with all proceeds going to our environmental education programs in Monroe County.
